More about our company

A bit more about our company and the people behind it

Instajet was founded by an experienced team of aviation professionals to address the growing demand for private flying, for both business and leisure. By taking a common-sense approach to connecting passengers and operators, Instajet simply demystifies how private air travel can be accessed and experienced.

Nick Davis: Founder and Chief Executive

From his childhood living next to an airfield, through his early career in the Army Air Corps, to his professional experiences in aircraft manufacture, operation and management, Nick has been immersed in the aviation industry throughout his entire professional and personal life.

Nick has been instrumental in the growth of many private aviation companies and aviation membership programmes. In his time as Head of Aviation at Sunseeker Sales, the superyacht manufacturer sales arm, he was responsible for establishing a relationship with NetJets to assist with high-net-worth individual introductions in the European market. This was followed closely thereafter with a similar role in Bombardier Flexjet at Farnborough Airport, continuing to introduce private aviation to Sunseeker yacht owners.

With vast experience in the business and ecosystem of running airlines and airports, Nick has developed an enviable reputation in successfully managing the complex logistics required in the world of private jet management. He is also a qualified pilot and enjoys instructing learner pilots in his spare time.

Steve Westlake: Board member and Non-Exec

With a wealth of industry experience spanning nearly 30 years, Steve is a former helicopter pilot and was MD of Virgin Helicopters in the mid-nineties. A serial entrepreneur, Steve pioneered the introduction of charter block hours, widely used by private jet charter brokers around the world today.

In 2004 Steve acquired one of the first UK charter companies, Business Air Centre. Having grown this business to £10m by 2006, Steve executed the purchase of two new Lear jets at a cost of $21.5m, based at London Farnborough Airport. In 2010 he acquired the licensed operator Manhattan, with a fleet of four Lear jets and three Premier 1 aircraft. With Steve as the Accountable Manager for the charter operator, a CAA-regulated post-holder position, the group employed 35 staff and flew over 2,000 flight hours per year.

Steve fully understands the difficulties, restrictions and costs that licensed charter operators are subjected to. He now focuses his attention on improving with the aid of technology not only the operator position in the charter market, but also the transparency of the industry between operators and passengers.

Our operations team

Our team also consists of a highly qualified and experienced team of aviation professionals, dealing with passengers and operators on a daily basis. Once a passenger has chosen a flight route, date and aircraft category, with our guaranteed fixed price reservation app, our ops team personally selects the best operator for that trip. Operators that are able to provide the newest aircraft, or complimentary category upgrades, will be given priority. Our ops team liaises with passengers from the initial reservation right through until you have arrived at your destination. They make sure you have all the information you need, answer any questions you may have, and help make your Instajet experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
